DJI Care Refresh

DJI Care Refresh

If you are about to purchase a DJI drone, I highly recommend you purchase the DJI Care Refresh service as well. The added fee is minimal compared to the price of the drone and you are completely covered. If you already are protected by Care Refresh, keep reading because we break down the Care Refresh+ program as well. This week’s blog post is going to break down the DJI Care Refresh service program, why you need it, how to get it, and what it Care Refresh does.

What is DJI Care Refresh?

DJI Care Refresh is a service plan that you hope to never use but should always have. DJI Care Refresh covers damage to your DJI product, even if it's your fault. The DJI Care Refresh plan is valid for 12 months (there is an option to purchase 12 more months). During that 12 month period you are able to get two full product replacements (for an additional charge) if your product becomes damaged or unusable. When you send in your drone in for repair it's very likely you'll receive an equal or better value drone back. These protection plans cost only fractions of what the actual drone costs. In most cases, to get 12 months of coverage, you pay less than $100. The only snag with their protection is that it has to be implemented within 48 hours of activating your drone. Not within 48 hours of purchasing or receiving your drone, but the actual activation of the serial number before your first flight.

Why Do I Need It?

Accidents can happen at any time, especially when complex technology is involved. You don't want to be flying a drone several hundred feet off the ground without the peace of mind of having insurance/coverage on that drone. I recently had to contact DJI for my Mavic Pro and send it in. I have never crashed my Mavic Pro (knock on wood), but the gimbal has been having a hard time calibrating. I can manually start the calibration but it fails at 35% every time. Luckily, I was able to contact DJI and they are repairing it right now. If you aren't convinced yet to get coverage, go ahead and do a quick YouTube search of drone crashes, you'll change your mind.

What Damage and Parts Are Covered?

Water and physical damage are covered, even if it’s your fault. Here’s a little breakdown directly from DJI showing the different parts covered for each drone type.

What If My DJI Care Refresh Expires Soon?

You're in luck! If you'd like to receive another 12 months of coverage after your Care Refresh expires, you can purchase the Care Refresh+ service. This extends your coverage another 12 months and allows one more product replacement if the drone becomes damaged or unusable. The Care Refresh+ also extends the drone's warranty as well. It's 100% worth the purchase and peace of mind. The next section has everything you need to read more about Care Refresh+

Where Can I Get Protection?

You can purchase the regular protection straight from DJI HERE. If you are looking for the Extended 12 months of coverage through DJI Care Refresh+, check this page.
These pages break down each of their available service plans, no matter what product you own. The tabs at the top of the product section make it super easy to check out the different product protections.

DJI has a great section with more FAQ’s on their protection plans. If you’d like to read more about it, check out their site.
